High Plains AVA Information

- Texas High Plains AVA
The High Plains Appellation is one of Texas’ best microclimates and terroirs for grapes, with shallow sandy soils over caliche, warm days and cool nights, as well as low rainfall and low humidity. The High Plains are growing some of the state’s emerging signature grapes, including Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Mourvedre, Dolcetto, Viognier, and Vermentino.
